About us

Paladares travel is an independent company, offering bespoke gastronomic travel/holiday/breaks/trips to Portugal. The company is based and registered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

We offer food- and wine focused vacations in beautiful locations for the solo travelers, couples, and groups, including groups of friends on holiday or corporate teams on retreat.
We concentrate on Portugal, where the cuisine is increasingly becoming more sophisticated while remaining delicious, and where the wines can be truly outstanding.

The company was founded by Cees Lafeber. Cees has enjoyed a career of more than 15 years as an international banker, thereby travelling around the globe while living in various countries, including England and The Netherlands. It was during his time working for an investment bank in London, that Cees was inspired to develop his passion for cuisine, travel and Portugal and create a gastronomic travel company. Paladares Travel was (ultimately) established in 2005.

Paladares Travel is run by Cees and his enthusiastic team which has a wealth of travel and food & wine expertise. Equally as important as our passion for good food & wine, and a love of traveling, is our deep affection for the largely uncharted delights of Portugal.
